The Blade’s 2004 investigation, “Buried Secrets, Brutal Truths,” earned a Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting. The series focused on an elite U.S. Army unit, Tiger Force, that left a trail of atrocities during the Vietnam War, and concealed from the public for three decades.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette won the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting for its coverage of the shooting deaths of 11 people and the wounding of seven others Oct. 27 at the Tree of Life synagogue in Squirrel Hill.
